MSI MPG 491CQP QD-OLED released as huge new curved gaming monitor
MSI has now released the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED, a gaming monitor that the company first mentioned in November 2023. Since then, the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED formed part of its CES 2024 showcase, which included the MPG 272QPX and MEG 321URX, among other gaming monitors. For reference, MSI also presented the Claw gaming handheld and various laptops like the Creator M16 HX.
While MSI did not reveal any launch details for the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED during CES 2024, it is already offering the monitor in China. To recap, the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED spans 49-inches across and outputs 5,120 x 1,440 pixels (DQHD), which correlates with a 32:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the monitor sports a 1800R curvature, a 144 Hz refresh rate, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, four video inputs and a USB hub.
Incidentally, the monitor has arrived there shortly after the RedMagic Realm, another 49-inch and QD-OLED gaming monitor but one that delivers a 240 Hz refresh rate along with a 1440p resolution. Unsurprisingly, MSI has priced its monitor at significantly less than the RedMagic Realm, which retails for CNY 8,999 (~$1,254). By contrast, the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED has started at CNY 7,999 (~$1,115). Unfortunately, availability for other markets remains unknown for now, although the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED will receive a global release eventually.
