AOC AGON GAMING 24G4X debuts as new affordable gaming monitor with 180 Hz refresh rate
AOC has presented the AGON GAMING 24G4X, one of two G4 series monitors that it has introduced. For context, the company also presented the AGON GAMING 27G4X, full details of which we have covered separately. As for the AGON GAMING 24G4X, the monitor actually has a 23.8-inch screen size, despite its name suggesting otherwise.
Built around an IPS panel, the AGON GAMING 24G4X outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio and is aided by WLED backlights for 300 nits peak brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Additionally, AOC claims that the panel delivers 0.5 ms MPRT and 1 ms GtG response times with NVIDIA G-SYNC on hand to mitigate image tearing. Moreover, the AGON GAMING 24G4X matches the AGON GAMING 27G4X by providing a 180 Hz refresh rate, which is available across its single DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 video inputs.
Elsewhere, the AGON GAMING 24G4X features a pair of 2 W speakers, a 100 x 100 mm VESA mount and a Kensington lock slot. On top of that, AOC has integrated its G-Menu software, which includes new smart crosshair functionality, among other in-game aids. According to AOC's press release, the AGON GAMING 24G4X is available in Europe and the UK for €189 and £149.99, respectively. Please see AOC's website for more details.
