MSI confirms pricing of MSI Claw A1M handheld gaming PC
MSI made it to the headlines after information about its very first gaming handheld PC surfaced. As showcased later at CES 2024, the handheld gaming console is called MSI Claw A1M, and it's the first device to come with the Intel Meteor Lake processors.
From our benchmarks on the new Intel Core Ultra CPUs, it's pretty much confirmed that the MSI Claw will be offering a competitive performance when compared to the existing leaders, such as the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. But there was no word on the pricing information until now.
MSI has just posted the pricing details on the official online store. According to the listings, the MSI Claw A1M-052US, which is the base variant of the gaming handheld featuring Intel Core Ultra 5 135H and 512 GB SSD, is $699.99. The top-end variant with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and 1 TB SSD is $799.99. Its model number is A1M-050US.
There's a variant in the middle of these two, which is the MSI Claw A1M-051US. It comes with the same Intel Core Ultra 7 155H as the most expensive model but with 512 GB SSD. All the variants will ship with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and all the other specs will be the same among the three. You can learn more from the image below comparing the three variants.
As for the pricing, the Asus ROG Ally with Z1 Extreme sits at $699.99 (available on Amazon), while the Lenovo Legion Go with the same chip launched at the same price tag (curr. $649.99 on Amazon). So, besides performance, it's safe to say that the pricing of the MS Claw gaming handheld is competitive as well.
