Lenovo ThinkVision P32pz-30 finally available as Mini LED monitor with 1,200 nits brightness, USB 4 and 140 W charging
Lenovo has finally started selling the ThinkVision P32pz-30, a monitor with a built-in docking station that serves as a larger alternative to the ThinkVision P27pz-30. Showcased simultaneously in December 2022, the pair were supposed to go on sale in August 2023. For some reason, that release date never occured, nor are either available in the US yet.
Conversely, it seems that Lenovo has been quietly selling the ThinkVision P32pz-30 in Europe and the UK since late December. The same may apply to the smaller ThinkVision P27pz-30 too, details of which we have covered separately. While the ThinkVision P32pz-30 is over a year old at this point, few true alternatives exist yet.
On the one hand, Lenovo has included 1,152 Mini LED backlight zones that combine to deliver up to 600 nits typical and 1,200 nits peak brightnesses. Although the latter applies when viewing HDR content, the ThinkVision P32pz-30 should still provide up to 650 nits in SDR conditions. Additionally, the 31.5-inch panel delivers a 1,000:1 native contrast ratio, plus 81%, 98% and 99% BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB colour space coverages, respectively. Moreover, the monitor tops out at 4K (3,840 x 2,160) and 60 Hz with 4 ms response times.
On the other hand, the ThinkVision P32pz-30 contains a USB Type-C hub that supports the USB 4 protocol with full 40 Gbps coverage. As such, the monitor can recharge a connected device at up to 140 W with pass-through to its Ethernet, quad 10 Gbps USB Type-A, 3.5 mm and secondary 10 Gbps USB Type-C ports. Alternatively, DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports are on hand for dedicated video inputs. Officially, the ThinkVision P32pz-30 is available for €1,999 in the Eurozone but just £1,219.99 (~€1,425) in the UK. Retailers are already offering the ThinkVision P32pz-30 at discounts across the Eurozone, though.
