The Zebra09, a new electric e-scooter, has already been successfully financed as part of a Kickstarter campaign. It aims to win over buyers with a particularly large load capacity and even comes with a seat, which should allow individuals with limited mobility to cover long distances.
Two motors with an output of 1000 watts are installed, which may well be a big problem for the scooter: although the model can in principle be shipped worldwide, it is unlikely to be legal for use on public roads in countries such as Germany. The maximum speed is limited to 30 km/h.
The manufacturer installs a battery with a capacity of 960 Wh, which is said to ensure a range of 45 km. The turning radius is given as 1.5 meters, while the 45-kg heavy scooter has a load bearing capacity of up to 150 kg. Four 9-inch radial-patterned urban commuting tires are attached and accompanied by a 'bridge-type' suspension system, allowing for comfortable riding on dirt paths, for example. A 4-wheel 14cm disc brake system is also installed, along with lights and a display.
An add-on cargo trailer can be optionally purchased, which allows cargo up to 100 kg to be effortlessly transported. The steering stand is foldable, allowing for easy transport and storage. At present, supporters are promised a unit for just under $1000, not including import duties or shipping costs. Delivery is scheduled to start in March. However, supporters cannot necessarily count on a smooth process, as crowdfunding campaigns always come with financial risk.
