Decathlon has discounted the Elops Speed 900E electric city bike in various EU countries. In France and Italy, customers can save €400, lowering the price from €1,899 to €1,499. A similar deal is also available in Belgium, where customers can buy the e-bike for €1,500 rather than €1,900.
The Elops Speed 900E was launched last October as an electric e-bike designed for everyday rides. A 250W Mahle X35 motor powers the model with a 25 kph (~16 mph) top assistance speed and up to 40Nm torque. You can ride with assistance for up to 80 km (~50 miles) thanks to a 250Wh battery. A built-in SIM card lets you control the bike’s settings via the Decathlon Ride app, where you can also track its location using GPS. It’s worth noting that while connectivity is free for the first 12 months, a monthly subscription fee of €2 will be charged after that. Other features include TEKTRO TKR R280 hydraulic disc brakes, 700 x 35 mm 60 TPI puncture-resistant tires with reflective stripes, and a headlight with 40 lux brightness.
The e-bike’s aluminum frame is available in sizes from M to XL, weighing around 15 kg (~33 lbs). It is unclear how long these deals on the Decathlon Elops Speed 900E electric city bike will last. Plus, whether or when the offer could be rolled out to other countries like the UK, the Netherlands, and Germany remains to be seen.
