The start-up TARRAN has introduced its T1 Pro as "the bike that thinks" - about the potential risks associated with its increasingly popular form-factor, that is.
It is a cargo e-bike with a front-loading design as opposed to longtail, albeit one that employs an "intelligent spacing" technique to bring its length down to just 2.26 meters (m, or ~7.41 feet). Nevertheless, TARRAN asserts that one can put 2 children of 1.26m (~4.13 feet) or less in height side by side in its box without fear of tipping over.
The T1 Pro is equipped with what might appear to be training wheels for that part of the bike, but are in fact innovative Dynamic Dualdrive landing gears rated to deploy by themselves (with their own motors to boot) when it senses possibly hazardous braking.
The bike is also equipped with a 5.2-inch "retina" touchscreen powered by an in-house TarranOS; wireless charging, contactless locking and anti-theft features via its own app and even its own Bluetooth speakers. Its dual 708Wh batteries are backed to achieve a range of up to 200km (~124 miles).
Then again, TARRAN has yet to reveal how fast the T1 Pro can go with its up to 220 kilograms (kg, or ~485lb) of cargo, or how much it will cost on its to-be-determined release. In the meantime, it is available to view at the ongoing Eurobike 2024 conference in Frankfurt, Germany.
