Decathlon reveals new BTWIN R500E Longtail Electric Cargo Bike version
The Decathlon BTWIN R500E electric longtail cargo bike is available in a new red color. The 2023 model launched in October, with customers offered a beige or light green frame. Aside from its color, the latest version is identical to the original e-bikes, suitable for transporting loads of up to 170 kg (~375 lbs); 80 kg (~176 lbs) is supported on the pannier rack, and up to 10 kg (~22 lbs) can be loaded into the front basket.
The R500E has a 250W rear-wheel motor with 58Nm torque, assisting you at speeds up to 25 kph (~16 mph). A torque sensor provides natural feeling assistance, while the lithium-ion battery from Samsung allows you to use the engine for up to 90 km (~56 miles). An LCD screen will enable you to switch between the four assistance modes and view information such as your remaining range and distance travelled. Other features of the 8-speed e-bike include a Microshift rear derailleur, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, lights and mudguards. The bike comes in one size, suiting riders from 1.55 to 1.96 m (~5 ft 1-in to 6 ft 6-in) tall and weighing 38 kg (~84 lbs).
You can buy the Decathlon BTWIN R500E electric longtail cargo bike in red for £3,299.99/€2,999/37,999 SEK. UK customers should note that, while the light green version is out of stock, you can buy the beige model for £2,599.99, making it £700 cheaper than the red e-bike.
