Stromer has launched a new e-bike, the ST5 Pinion. The latest model builds on the existing ST5 model, launching in 2021, with a Pinion C1.9 Smart.Shift in place of the Shimano XT Di2 11 Speed 11-42 shifting system. The company suggests the Pinion unit is especially hardwearing and provides a smooth riding experience.
Other upgrades to the ST5 Pinion versus the original model include the Stromer sound module, providing audible warnings and notifications, and a longer fender to help keep your feet dry when riding in wet or muddy conditions. The ST5 Pinion is powered by a 750W (US) or 850W rear wheel SYNO Sport motor, assisting you across various modes at speeds of up to 45 kph (~28 mph) or 32 kph (~20 mph), depending on rules in your area. A 983Wh battery provides up to 180 km (~112 miles) range, fully recharging in around 5.5 hours.
Also included are Pirelli tires, an anti-lock braking system, an onboard display, a phone mount and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to control the bike via the Stromer OMNI app. You can use the app for GPS tracking, automatic locking and unlocking, to customize the motor’s settings and view journey data. The aluminum frame, fitted with a Supernova headlight and rear light with brake light, is covered by a 10-year warranty. You can now buy the Stromer ST5 Pinion e-bike in the Imperial Red Launch Edition starting from $11,990, making it $890 more expensive than the original model. Plus, an Aventurine Green option will arrive in March 2024.
