Roland has launched the PAXXTER e, a bicycle trailer with assistance from two 125W hub motors. You can choose from three assistance levels, with a pedal sensor ensuring the power feels natural. Other features include an aluminum storage box, removable battery and LED battery charge level indicators.

The Roland PAXXTER e is a new electrically powered bike trailer. The product has been designed to help you to transport heavier loads on your e-bike or to tackle steeper inclines with ease. The trailer is powered by two 125W 36V hub drives in the 16-inch wheels, assisting you at speeds of up to 25 kph (~16 mph).

You can choose from three support levels for the PAXXTER e, with power controlled via a pedal sensor that detects and matches your power for natural feeling assistance; Roland claims the pedal sensor is easy to fix to your bike’s crank. You can adjust the support setting or turn off assistance via a switch on the side of the trailer. Plus, integrated LED lights use color to indicate the remaining battery level. The removable 180Wh battery is stored under the trailer, and an optional second power pack allows you to extend the assistance range.

The PAXXTER e has a detachable aluminum box, which doubles as storage for the disassembled trailer. You can choose between 156L and 239L models, weighing around 24 kg (~52.9 lbs). You can now buy the Roland PAXXTER e 156L and 239L bike trailers in the EU for €3,299.90 and €3,399.90, respectively.
