Garmin Beta update 19.15 now available for Edge 540, Edge 840 and Edge 1040 bike computers

The Garmin Public Beta update version 19.15 is now available for the Edge 540, Edge 840 and Edge 1040 GPS bike computers. The software brings one bug fix to the gadgets and adds a new prompt to the 1040, making it harder to delete a ride mistakenly. As with previous updates, version 19.15 will be automatically delivered to eligible devices.

Garmin has released Public Beta software version 19.15 for the Edge 540, Edge 840 and Edge 1040 Bike Computers. The update is relatively modest, with a total of two changes. Firstly, Garmin has fixed a problem where smart notification prompts did not trigger the usual beeping sound. The change log for version 19.15 for the Garmin Edge 1040 also notes that a prompt has been added to make it harder to discard your ride accidentally. 

Garmin states that the new beta software will be automatically installed on eligible units once they have synced with Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) or via Garmin Express. Should you encounter any problems, the company asks that you log them in the forum's Bug Reports section. So far, only one issue has been reported for v19.15, where a user attempted to save lactate threshold data via a prompt asking them to 'skip' or 'save'. Despite hitting save, the data appears to have disappeared. The issue is listed as "Under Review" by Garmin.

If you own an Edge 540, Edge 840 or Edge 1040 bike computer, you can sign up for the Beta Program at Garmin Connect. The previous update, version 19.13, added support for images on smart notifications and fixed various bugs relating to the weather.
