Garmin Descent Mk3 watch-style dive computer appears in new image

Another recent leak, this time for an event at The Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) Show 2023, suggests that the device will be unveiled here on November 14. The event summary indicates that the gadget features an AMOLED display, an integrated LED flashlight and SubWave sonar technology that allows divers to communicate with preset messages. Plus, two videos were recently shared on the Garmin Outdoors Instagram, appearing to tease a diving wearable, though Garmin has not named it the Descent Mk3.

The caption on the first video is, “We can’t say much. Just this: We’re going to new depths.” This could be Garmin pointing at a wearable with a greater maximum diving depth; for context, the Descent Mk2 can operate at depths of up to 100 m (~328 ft). The most recent post from November 13 is captioned, “You can exhale now. It’s almost here …” which has led fans to believe we could see the model in the next few days, as Garmin often releases such messages shortly before a launch. Precisely when the Garmin Descent Mk3 dive computers will go on sale, or for how much, remains to be seen.
