The Garmin Vivoactive 5 Public Beta version 8.25 is now rolling out. This is only the second update for the Vivoactive 5, which launched in September; the first beta software was version 8.23, which arrived a little over a week ago. The change log for the two updates is broadly the same.
However, Public Beta 8.25 brings Activity Icon Animations update version 2.13. Garmin has not provided details as to what has been improved here. The change log also notes new team sports and racket sports activities, the Nap glace and a Workouts app added to the Activities list, all made available via software version 8.23.
The latest software for the Vivoactive 5 smartwatch will be automatically delivered to eligible smartwatches via Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM), with checks running daily. You can also manually download the update by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update. Garmin notes that the update may take several hours to download and install on your smartwatch. The company also requests that any issues be flagged in the Bug Reports section of the forum. You can join the Beta Program at Garmin Connect.
