Garmin skin temperature tracking arrives for Venu 3 and Venu 3s smartwatches
Garmin is rolling out Public Beta 8.23 for the Venu 3 and Venu 3s smartwatches. This is the first beta software release for the wearables, which launched earlier this year. Version 8.23 brings many new features to the gadgets, including the eagerly anticipated skin temperature monitoring, with data added to sleep tracking in the Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) app.
Other features available with Beta update 8.23 include new activities for team sports and racket sports, alongside a Workouts app stored in the activities list and a Nap glance. For runners, the wearables now support wrist-based Run Power, with Running Dynamics insights viewable in GCM. Plus, Venu 3/3s smartwatch owners can use a Red Shift tool to make the device's display red, green or orange, helping to preserve night vision in low lighting. Also included are Muscle Map 2.33, Activity Icon Animations 1.04 and Golf Course Database 1.03 updates.
The software will be automatically delivered to eligible wearables via Garmin Connect, with the app looking for the new update daily. Alternatively, you can manually check for v8.23 by going to Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update. The company notes that it may take a few hours for the software to download and install. Should you wish to join the Garmin Beta program, you can do so via GCM.
