Garmin Descent Mk3: New dive computer smartwatches leak in four variants
Garmin has had a busy year, most recently refreshing the Marq 2 series with three Carbon Collection smartwatches. Leaker @fttest_en has discovered that the company is preparing to unveil new Descent-branded smartwatches too, over 18 months after it introduced the Descent G1 and Descent G1 Solar. For reference, Garmin also markets the Descent series as a dive computer, although they contain the same overall feature set as Garmin's other smartwatches.
Based on the image below, it appears that the Descent G1 series will last another year, as is often the case with Garmin's Descent smartwatches. Specifically, Garmin Mexico has added four unreleased Descent Mk3 smartwatches to its support database, referred to as Descent Mk3, Descent Mk3i, Descent Mk3S and Descent Mk3Si. While the sole image that @fttest_en has provided does not reveal any differences between the Descent Mk2 and Mk3 series, Garmin's consistent branding reveals a few details.
For example, the company will continue to sell Descent Mk smartwatches in two sizes, with the 's' being the smaller of the two. Additionally, Garmin will offer SubWave technology in both sizes; currently, SubWave technology support is limited to the larger Descent Mk2, sold as Descent Mk2i. A release date for the Mk3 series remains unknown for now, although the series' appearance on a Garmin support page implies that Garmin will launch new smartwatches soon.
