Garmin has released a public software update, version 14.68, for Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7 and MARQ 2 smartwatches. Previously, the update was exclusively available to users signed up to the Beta Program. This release provides significant improvements compared to the older software version 13.22, distributed to all users several months ago.
Since the rollout of v13.22, Garmin has added several activities to non-pro models, such as American Football, Ice Hockey, Soccer/Football, Ultimate Disc, Cricket, Softball, Archery and BMX. Users can now enjoy Gaming and Workout Apps and optimizations to Golf features like a revamped Virtual Caddie interface. Device Settings Backup and Restore have been added, and you can choose multiple locations in the on-device weather app. More details from the changelog can be found here.
Garmin has requested that smartwatch owners who experience issues after installing the new software log them in the forum. Several Fenix 7 and Epix (Gen 2) users have reported that their wearable has crashed post-update; Garmin has yet to respond to this issue. The company notes that update 14.68 concludes the 14.xx Beta cycle, though it has not indicated when the next phase, presumably the 15.xx period, will begin. A complete list of compatible smartwatches is provided below; it is worth noting that the Tactix 7 and MARQ Aviator Gen 2 are ineligible for this update.
