Garmin has launched the D2 Mach 1 Pro smartwatch globally. The new premium wearable is designed for aviators, with a built-in LED flashlight; you can vary the torch's brightness and choose from red or white light. Other features for pilots include a red shift mode, filtering out blue light to protect your night vision.
The D2 Mach 1 Pro also provides aviation weather, airport information, locally stored maps and multi-GNSS support. An Emergency Mode shows information like your best glide speed, approximate glide distance, glide time, and direction of the nearest airport, which could be helpful if you encounter an issue with the engine. Health tracking features include a Pulse Ox sensor to monitor your oxygen levels at a higher altitude and a Jet Lag Adviser to help you minimize any adverse effects of your last trip. Also included are the new Garmin ECG app, Body Battery energy level monitoring and over 30 sports apps.
Other standard features like smart notifications, music apps and Garmin Pay contactless payment are incorporated in the D2 Mach 1 Pro. The smartwatch has a larger 1.4-in (~36 mm) AMOLED display with a 454 x 454 resolution, a 51 mm (~2.0-in) titanium bezel and vented titanium bracelet. The wearable can last for up to 25 days with typical use. You can now buy the Garmin D2 Mach 1 Pro smartwatch for US$1,399.99/£1,449.99/€1,649.99. Customers in the US can expect the wearable to ship in 2-3 weeks, while those in the UK and EU could wait for up to 5 and 8 weeks, respectively.
