Xiaomi has now released what it calls its 'wrist ECG and blood pressure recorder', or Xiaomi Watch H1 for short. Introduced in China, the Watch H1 joins the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, Xiaomi Watch S3 and Xiaomi TV S Pro 85, which the company also showcased today in its home market. As its long-form name suggests, the Watch H1 is said to be Xiaomi's first wearable that can monitor blood pressure levels to a medical standard.
Like the Huawei Watch D, the Huawei Watch H1 utilises a micro pump that inflates around a wearer's wrist, much like a conventional blood pressure cuff would. According to Xiaomi, the results from its smartwatch differ by up to 3 mm Hg from those achieved using a professional alternative. The company adds that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has already certified the Watch H1 as a Class III medical device, which should permit its sale in the US.
Additionally, the Watch H1 has FDA-certified electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality, plus a skin temperature sensor and other sensors for monitoring health metrics like your heart rate and SpO2 levels. The Xiaomi Watch H1 is already orderable in China for CNY 1,999 (~US$273), which makes it considerably more expensive than the Watch S3. It remains to be seen when Xiaomi will offer the Watch H1 outside China for the time being, though.
