Xiaomi Watch S3 teased before Thursday launch running HyperOS with new novel design
Xiaomi has published teaser images of yet another new smartwatch, shortly after the global release of the Watch 2 Pro. Incidentally, the teasers arrived following confirmation that the Xiaomi 14 series would debut on October 26. As the images below show, this launch date also applies to the Watch S3, which Xiaomi will offer in various colours.
Upon first glance, the Watch S3 resembles the Watch S1 Pro. However, Xiaomi has outlined that the former will support an interchangeable bezel for different colour combinations. Currently, it seems that the Watch S3 will detect what bezel is connected and tweak its UI colours accordingly, which would be a novel innovation.
Moreover, the Watch S3 will rely upon HyperOS, an OS that will soon debut in smartphone form on the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. For reference, it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will base HyperOS for smartwatches on Wear OS 4, an OS that ships with the Watch 2 Pro. Elsewhere, the Watch S3 will feature a 1.43-inch AMOLED display that has 600 nits peak brightness and a 326 PPI. Unfortunately, there is no word yet if Xiaomi intends to release the Watch S3 globally.
