Vivo has presented the Watch 3, an affordable smartwatch available in several finishes. The Vivo Watch 3 is also a showcase for BlueOS, a new OS that supports third-party apps and helps the smartwatch achieve up to 16 days of battery life from a single charge.

Vivo has now started selling the Watch 3 in China, where it retails from CNY 1,099 (~US$151). Alternatively, the smartwatch is available with an eSIM for CNY 1,299, which converts to US$178 at current exchange rates. Like the X100 series, Vivo has not confirmed whether it intends to release the Watch 3 globally. However, it has published full hardware details about its latest smartwatch, as well as various marketing images.

Arguably, the Vivo Watch 3 resembles Google's Pixel Watch 2 (US$399.99 on Amazon), albeit with a repositioned digital crown. Also, Vivo's new smartwatch sits within a 46.1 x 46.1 mm case, which allows it to include a larger display than its Pixel Watch 2 counterpart. Specifically, the Vivo Watch 3 has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 466 x 466 pixels and supports always-on (AOD) functionality.

Additionally, Vivo has pre-installed BlueOS, its new smartwatch operating system that integrates over 100 sports modes and watch faces, plus first-party apps for using the smartwatch's NFC chip, SpO2 sensor and GPS module. Moreover, BlueOS supports third-party apps through a built-in app store; Vivo has not yet provided full details about its app store. At any rate, the Watch 3 is rated for up to 16 days of battery life, although this official estimate drops to 3 days with its eSIM always activated.
