Lenovo ThinkStation P8 debuts as new highly configurable workstation with AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX processors
Lenovo has revealed the ThinkStation P8, a new workstation that will be available in Q1 2024. While the company is not ready to share full pricing details yet, it has outlined various key specifications ahead of next year's launch. In short, all ThinkStation P8 SKUs will ship with the same 175 x 508 x 435 mm housing, although weight can vary up to 25.9 kg with a fully configured machine.
Additionally, the AMD WRX90 chipset sits at the heart of all models, as well as Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX series processors. Despite not providing full processor model numbers, it appears that the ThinkStation P8 will be configurable with up to the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX, a 5 nm processor with 96 Zen 4 cores that can boost to 5.1 GHz, 192 threads and a 350 W default TDP.
Moreover, the workstation will be configurable with a choice of AMD and NVIDIA GPUs, topping out at a Radeon PRO W7900 and three RTX 6000 Ada cards, both totalling 48 GB of VRAM. Similarly, the ThinkStation P8 has space for seven storage drives, seven PCIe slots and eight DIMM slots.
