NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation announced ahead of December release with over 18,000 CUDA cores and 48 GB VRAM

While Tuesday's #ProjectBeyond event focused on NVIDIA's new RTX 4080 12 GB, RTX 4080 16 GB and RTX 4090, the company also presented a new RTX 6000. Billed as 'opening a new era of neural graphics', the RTX 6000 retains its predecessor's stylish design while adopting NVIDIA's latest Ada Lovelace architecture. While NVIDIA has revealed a few specifications about the card, PNY has shared more crucial details.

Specifically, the RTX 6000 Ada Generation has a 608.4 mm die with 76.3 billion transistors and 18,176 CUDA cores. Hence, the RTX 6000 Ada Generation has more CUDA cores and transistors than the RTX 4090. Presumably, the former has a less cut-down AD102 GPU, although it remains to be seen whether this is the full AD102. Additionally, the RTX 6000 Ada Generation offers 567 Gen 4 Tensor cores, 142 Gen 3 RT cores and 48 GB of GDDR6 VRAM with EEC operating on a 384-bit memory bus.

Apparently a dual-slot card, the RTX 6000 Ada Generation also has four DisplayPort 1.4 connections, a 300 W TGP and a single PCIe CEMs 16-pin power connector. Like other Ada Lovelace cards, the RTX 6000 Ada Generation supports 3x NVENC and 3x NVDEC, plus AV1 encoding and decoding support. Currently, NVIDIA has only confirmed that the RTX 6000 Ada Generation will be available from global distribution partners and manufacturers in December; no pricing has been revealed yet.
