The Himiway Kids Electric Bike C1, designed for children aged 4 to 12, is now on sale in the US. It has a 350W geared hub motor and three-speed modes: 7 mph (~11.3 kph), 13 mph (~20.9 kph) and 15 mph (~24.1 kph). A thumb throttle triggers the engine, reducing the risk of accidental starts compared to a twist throttle.
A 360Wh battery provides up to 50 miles (~81 km) of assistance range, and Himiway suggests that the power pack retains 80% of its capacity after 1,000 cycles. A Battery Management System (BMS) protects against overheating, short-circuiting, and overcharging issues. Plus, the battery is housed in a flame-retardant casing. Other features include hydraulic and electronic brakes, 16x3-in Kenda fat tires, and an LED that shows your speed and remaining battery level.
The C1 has a sturdy 6061 aluminum frame weighing 32 lbs (~14 kg) and measuring 45 x 28 x 29-in (~114 x 71 x 74 cm). The bike can support loads up to 165 lbs (~75 kg) and suits riders between 3ft 3-in and 4ft 9-in (~99 and 145 cm) tall. You can now buy the Himiway Kids Electric Bike C1 in the US for US$799; the bicycle is expected to ship on November 30. At Amazon, customers can save US$100 via an in-page coupon, reducing the price to US$699, though the product ships later, in early January. It is unclear whether or when the model could arrive in other markets, such as Europe.
