The Garmin Edge Explore 2 GPS Bike Computer is now receiving Public Beta update 19.13, which follows the release of version 10.14 three months ago. The new software includes various bug fixes and introduces new features to the accessory, such as a “Climb!” shortcut on the ClimbPro screen.
Also added to ClimbPro is the estimated time to the end of the climb, and problems with the elevation page and indoor use have been fixed. For GroupRide, the scheduled ride time picker has been improved, and the problem with the keyboard has been resolved. Other new features include Fitness Age calculations in Garmin Connect with the ability to manually set the resting heart rate used to generate this score. Plus, a new tool can be deployed to pause workouts automatically, and the VO2 Max page now shows four weeks of history.
Other bug fixes include CIQ alert issues, and invalid climb split cadence values. Garmin has also tackled a problem syncing data to Garmin Connect for automatically detected Functional Threshold Power (FTP) and lactate threshold. Update version 19.13 will be automatically delivered to eligible accessories via GCM, which checks for the new software daily. If you own a Garmin Edge Explore 2 GPS Bike Computer, you can sign up for the Beta Program at Garmin Connect.
