Garmin Venu 3 wins CES 2024 Best of Innovation Award

Garmin has announced that a number of its products have been honored with CES 2024 Awards ahead of time. They include members of its popular wearables line, the Venu 3 included.

The smartwatch offers "24/7 health metrics" on a "beautiful" 1.4-inch AMOLED display that also sports an integrated speaker and mic system for features such as on-wrist calls and messages. It is an Honoree in the Consumer Technology Association's (CTA) Sports & Fitness and Accessibility categories as well as a Best of Innovation Award winner.

It will be joined on the CES 2024 Awards stage by the MARQ Golfer Carbon Edition, which, as the name suggests, is another AMOLED-display wearable optimized for golfing with a markedly light build made of "130 layers of Fused Carbon Fiber".

The MARQ-series special edition boasts a sapphire crystal, a leather band and an estimated 16-day battery. By contrast, the epix Pro is more of a rugged smartwatch that focuses on GPS performance with SatIQ technology and TopoActive map preloads.

Both the epix Pro and MARQ Golfer Carbon Edition are Wearable Technologies Category Honorees, whereas the Garmin Autoland Autonomous Aircraft Landing System Retrofit has been honored in the Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility Category.

The OEM touts it as the first autopilot-like system of its kind capable of taking over the aircraft completely by itself in the event of an emergency. That includes choosing the best flight path to the nearest and best-suited airport, lining an approach up and touching down automatically. 

Garmin has also now announced that the Autoland system is also now rated as a retrofit that can go in a range of aircraft rather than select newer models.
