Kangsters Wheely-X treadmill for wheelchair cardio and esports awarded CES 2024 Innovation Award Honoree
Kangsters has been named a CES 2024 Innovation Award Honoree for their wheelchair fitness treadmill. This system consists of a treadmill with dual wheel sensors as well as Bluetooth connected software for Android and Apple. The app tracks distance, pace, calories, speed and more, and has a variety of exercise programs such as endurance, sprint, and interval training.
Exercise studies conducted by the company show improved strength and endurance in participants when used 30 minutes per day, 3 days a week over 6 months. Notably, muscle strength increased by 38% and cardiovascular endurance improved 52%.
The sensors also enable users to participate in esports gaming, and Kangsters Wheely-X Wheelchair Racing was included in the 2023 Gwangju Esports tournament held November 25-26. Winners were awarded up to KRW₩300,000 (US$230 approx.) for placing in the top three and KRW₩5,000,000 (US$3,800 approx.) in gifts that included a free Wheely-X and Nintendo Switch (available at Amazon).
The treadmill is designed for manual wheelchairs and requires 6 feet 7 inches by 4 feet of space. The Wheely-X is currently available at the company website for US$1,595.
