MagyarGarmin Forerunner smartwatches receive new Beta Version 17.22
Garmin has announced that Public Beta Version 17.22 for the Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955, and Forerunner 965 smartwatches is now at a pre-rollout stage. The new software is a release candidate, meaning an identical version of the update will soon be rolled out to all wearables, including those not enrolled in the Beta Program, assuming no major flaws are discovered during this testing phase.
Beta Version 17.22 brings three bug fixes to the wearables not present in the last update, v17.21. Garmin notes in the change log that the exercise list is no longer hidden during rest. Plus, bugs that could cause the Forerunner smartwatches to crash, like adding a data field to a profile via Garmin Connect Mobile or adding stamina fields to cycling profiles, have been resolved.
The change log also lists new features added in older updates, like embedded images in smart notifications, multi-location weather and an inline skating activity. Plus, a Red Shift mode for the 265 and 965 models can turn the display red, orange or green to help preserve night vision. You can download the update by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. If you own a Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 or Forerunner 965 smartwatch and wish to sign up for the Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
