The latest ROG Rapture-series router is joined by its non-gaming RT-BE86U counterpart to bring cutting-edge wired or wireless speeds to the ongoing Computex showcase. They are joined by the ROG USB-BE92, an adapter rated to upgrade non-Wi-Fi 7 PCs to the same 4K QAM and MLO technology with WPA3 security to boot.

The ROG USB-BE92 has been introduced to the Computex 2024 crowd as a new, potentially convenient way to upgrade a pre-Wi-Fi 7 machine to the latest wireless data speeds, which can be up to to 3.6 times those of Wi-Fi 6.

It connects via USB type-A, but apparently comes with a type-C adapter, and is slated to have a plug-and-play experience with Windows 10 or 11 PCs.

The USB-BE92 is also backed to set up WPA3 networks - then again, Asus concedes that it might not achieve the full gamut of Wi-Fi 7-standard speeds (up to 6,500 megabits per second (Mb/s), made up of 688 Mb/s on the 2.4GHz band and up to 2,882 Mb/s on either the 5 and 6GHz bands) due to its relatively small size.

Accordingly, those with the space and bandwidth for new up-to-date networking hardware might consider the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000, a successor to the very similar-looking GT-BE98 PRO that goes for $786.78 on Amazon today.

It has the same 1x10G plus 4x2.5G Ethernet port lay-out, 4096-QAM (4K QAM) and Multi-link Operation (MLO) specs as the new Asus RT-BE86U, although the GT-BE19000 boasts additional Gaming Network features for its Asus Guest Network Pro SSID management service.
