The XG27AQDNG has almost the exact same name as another member of the ROG Strix series of OLED monitors, but comes with a number of crucial differences. It is rated for a refresh rate of 360Hz despite its QHD resolution - which, moreover, is not glossy. The new display also boasts a powered USB-C port alongside support for HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4.

Asus has chosen to name one of its latest monitors the XG27ACDNG in full cognizance of the existence of the very similarly-termed XG27AQDMG; however, there are potentially crucial differences between the 2 OLED displays.

For a start, the $699 (as per current Amazon pricing) XG27AQDMG launched with a glossy panel, whereas the XG27AQDNG has not. Furthermore, the latter is 360Hz as opposed to 240Hz in the former, even though both are 1440p and have the same gray-to-gray (GtG) latency of 0.03 milliseconds (ms).

Both monitors have 26.5-inch panels (as their names suggest) and benefit from Asus' "exclusive" OLED Anti-Flicker technology as well as the OEM's anti-burn-in OLED Care+ battery of settings.

Then again, the XG27ACDNG is QD-OLED as opposed to WOLED in the XG27AQDMG, which means the older model might have the more even brightness distribution of the 2.

The XG27ACDNG can also charge other devices such as smartphones at up to 90W via its USB-C port, and covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

It has the same 'gamer-style' stand as its close sibling, but lacks pricing information at the time of writing.

Asus Press Release

ASUS continues to enhance its industry leading gaming monitor lineup with two groundbreaking 26.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) OLED gaming monitors that were announced at the ROG event, setting new benchmarks for motion clarity; offering gaming new levels of clarity, smoothness and response, along with a choice between anti-glare and glossy panels. ASUS uniquely is the only gaming monitor manufacturer to offer both WOLED and QD-OLED gaming monitors. The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP is the world’s first 1440P 480Hz OLED monitor, featuring a 26.5-inch display with an anti-glare surface, along with DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC) and HDMI® 2.1 connectivity. It includes ROG AI Assistant technology, including AI Shadow Boost, AI Crosshair, AI Visual, AI Sniper, and MOBA Map Helper, to enhance gaming experiences. The ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG is a 26.5-inch 360 Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor with an anti-reflection panel, equipped with DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), HDMI 2.1 and USB-C with 90 W Power Delivery. In addition to their ultrafast refresh rates, both models offer a 0.03 ms GTG response time, ensuring ultra-smooth and fast visuals. Both models features ASUS OLED exclusive calibration ensuring great out of the box color performance.

In addition to a three-year warranty, both monitors feature new OLED Care+, providing more advanced adjustable OLED settings for end users including Taskbar detection, Outer dimming control, and Global dimming control to protect the OLED panel. They continue ASUS commitment to ensure comprehensive protection in the form of ASUS's leading hardware cooling design, burin in mitigation firmware and robust software control. Furthermore, the monitors come equipped with the DisplayWidget Center for easy adjustment of OLED and new AI Visual settings. Plus, it allows users to adjust settings without using OSD menu, create custom profiles and keyboard shortcuts for quick access to your favorite setting, and optimize your display for different content. With App Tweaker, users can define display modes for specific applications. Display Widget Center allows for much easier consistent access and tuning to the monitor due to being able to access the OSD within Windows while leveraging your keyboard and mouse.

ROG-exclusive OLED Anti-flicker technology minimizes flicker during refresh-rate fluctuations, and the Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) technology provides crisper and clearer motion in fast-paced games and can benefit console gamers as well as those who may have less powerful system and cannot readily output the ultra high refresh rates of these displays but still want to maximize motion clarity. Both monitors also allow gamers to adjust brightness, color temperature and more in HDR mode. This alongside ASUS unclamped sRGB modes allow gamers to tailor the display to their preferences.
