The 39-inch Asus ROG Swift ultrawide OLED gaming monitor has a 240 Hz refresh rate, Nvidia G-Sync support, and a claimed brightness of 1,300 nits. Despite being marketed as a gaming monitor, its features and reasonable resolution make it a great option for basically anything, including colour-critical work. Thanks to an Amazon sale, the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM is $500 off.

Asus launched the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM earlier this year at CES, meaning it's jam-packed with all of the latest features for gamers. The 39-inch ultrawide gaming monitor is a giant all-rounder, thanks to high peak and sustained brightness and impressive colour accuracy, while snappy OLED response times and Nvidia G-Sync support make it a top-notch gaming companion. Thanks to a new Amazon sale, the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM is down to just $999.99.

The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM features a wide 21:9 aspect ratio, 3440×1440 resolution, and an 800R curve for extra immersion. The 240 Hz refresh rate is more than enough for all but the most competitive gamers, while Nvidia G-Sync helps smooth out any dips in frame rate. The ROG Swift OLED also has a built-in KVM switch, which enables connecting your mouse and keyboard to two computers simultaneously via the built-in two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A, or USB Type-C ports.

Asus claims the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM maximum peak brightness of 1,300 nits in HDR mode, 450 nits in SDR mode, and 275 nits at 100% APL, while also providing extremely accurate colours, with 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and delta-E values of under two. However, a review of the monitor by RTings had some different findings, with the publication measuring an impressive 96.6% DCI-P3 coverage, 1,108 nits peak 2% brightness, and 246 nits of sustained maximum brightness across the whole display in HDR mode. Colour accuracy was also impressive in the ROG Swift OLED review, with the average delta-E coming in at 1.92 before calibration, while calibration pushes that down further to 1.87.

Asus also included its ELMB and Clear Pixel Edge algorithms, which it claims help eliminate motion blur in high-action scenes and clean up text — often a sore spot with OLED monitors.

While most of the measured values in the above review fall short of what Asus claims for the ROG Swift OLED, but the measured results are impressive nonetheless — especially for those hunting for a gaming monitor that can also serve as a jack-of-all trades.
