ROG Strix XG27UCG: ASUS confirms more specs for first 4K/160 Hz and 1080p/320 Hz dual display mode monitor before eventual release
A little while has passed since ASUS unveiled what it claimed was the first dual display mode LCD gaming monitor. To recap, the ROG Strix XG27UCG followed on from OLED dual display mode equivalents like the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP and LG UltraGear OLED 32GS95UE (curr. $1,329.99 on Amazon). While ASUS revealed a few details about the ROG Strix XG27UCG, it left plenty of specifics up for interpretation.
Although the monitor has not been released yet, ASUS has at least now provided all key specifications through a US product listing. As such, it is now clear that the 27-inch 'Fast IPS' panel provides 95% DCI-P3 and 130% sRGB colour space coverages. Additionally, the monitor offers 400 nits peak SDR brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 178-degree viewing angles. Moreover, the ROG Strix XG27UCG will eventually ship with the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x Kensington lock slot
- 1x USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode/15 W Power Delivery
Furthermore, ASUS' product page confirms that the monitor delivers 4K/160 Hz and 1080p/320 Hz display modes through any of its three video inputs. On top of that, the company has included Aura Sync lighting effects, 100 x 100 mm VESA mounts, a 1/4-inch tripod socket and a stand that supports height, pivot, swivel and tilt adjustments. Please see ASUS' product page for more hardware details.
