Analyst reveals state of Samsung Galaxy S24 FE release months ahead of schedule
The release of a new Galaxy 'Fan Edition' smartphone could be a while off yet. Although Samsung has not mentioned the prospect of offering a new model yet, it tends to refresh smartphones annually. Thus, given that the Galaxy S23 FE (curr. $524.99 on Amazon) arrived in October 2023, we imagine it could be a while before Samsung introduces a successor.
Nonetheless, OnLeaks has already shared CAD-based renders of the Galaxy S24 FE, full coverage of which we have provided separately. Now, Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) claims to have obtained information about the launch colours for Samsung's next Fan Edition smartphone. For context, Young has a history of accurately revealing launch colours for upcoming Samsung releases, whether that be for the Galaxy S24 series or the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5.
According to Young, Samsung plans to offer the Galaxy S24 FE in five colours, at least initially. Specifically, the company is said to have developed black, grey, light blue, light green and yellow options; there is no suggestion that these are Samsung's chosen official colour names, though. Regardless, Young adds that black is currently the colour in which Samsung is producing the most units, somewhat emphasising the 'bog-standard' claims we made of the Galaxy S24 FE's design last month. For now, the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to eventually arrive with 8 GB of RAM and an underclocked Exynos 2400 chipset.
