Galaxy A06: Leaks reveal new details about future budget 4G Samsung smartphone

More information about a probable successor to the Galaxy A05 (curr. $109 on Amazon) has leaked online. To recap, the SM-A065 and its regional or dual SIM variants have already passed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US and the Wi-Fi Alliance on its way to being released. While neither revealed too many specifics about SM-A065, its model number suggests that Samsung intends to sell the device as the Galaxy A06.

Additionally, it turns out that the same device has been benchmarked countless times on Geekbench, evidence of which embedded below. On the one hand, the listings tie the model number SM-A065 to the retail name 'A06', while also confirming there will be a general global model sold as 'SM-A065F'. On the other hand, the listings highlight a few device details, such as the pre-installation of Android 14. Unfortunately, it seems that the Galaxy A06 will carry over plenty of its predecessor's hardware.

For example, all relevant Geekbench listings refer to the SM-A065F containing an ARM MT6769V/CZ processor, which is associated with the ARM implementer 65 architecture 8 variant 3 part 3338 revision 1 identifier. In other words, the Galaxy A06 appears to feature the same MediaTek Helio G85 chipset as the Galaxy A05, which combines Cortex-A55 and Cortex-A75 CPU cores with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. Moreover, we can only find references to 4 GB RAM SKUs in another similarity between the Galaxy A06 and its predecessor. Other details like a release date and pricing remain unknown at this stage.
