HMD Skyline G2 surfaces in early leaked render images with Nokia Lumia 1020 vibes
Currently, HMD Global only sells a few smartphones under its name, such as the HMD Pulse and Pulse Pro. On top of that, it recently introduced a few feature phones to replace Nokia-branded equivalents, details of which we have covered separately. Additionally, the company is expected to announce a slew of entry-level and mid-range smartphones soon, although it has not hinted at anything officially yet.
Until now, most HMD-related leaks have centred on Skyline, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2-powered device that will likely perform about as well as the comparably-equipped Xiaomi POCO X6 or Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G (curr. $289.99 on Amazon). While the HMD Skyline remains unreleased for now, various sources have already obtained images of its successor.
At the time of writing, the device is being referred to as 'HMD Skyline G2'. However, we imagine that this is a working title for now. Nonetheless, several differences between it and its predecessor can be seen, including the adoption of a third rear-facing camera. Moreover, it seems that HMD Global will not only persist with the Nokia Lumia-inspired design language for another generation, but that it will use Skyline G2 to ape the infamous Lumia 1020. Furthermore, the inclusion of three pogo pins suggests that the Skyline G2 will support 'smart outfit' accessories like the also rumoured HMD Fusion. Unfortunately, other details about the Skyline G2 remain unknown at this stage.
