Honor Magic V3 design unveiled as Samsung Galaxy Unpacked rivalling launch event officially confirmed
Roughly a week has passed since Honor started teasing the Magic V3, a direct Magic V2 (curr. $1,360 on Amazon) successor that it claimed would 'raise the bar once again' for foldable smartphones. At the time, Honor elected against revealing many details about the device, including a launch date. As it turns out, the company has decided to present its next-generation foldable less than 48 hours after the presumed arrival of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold6 on July 10.
For context, Honor has form for taking aim at Samsung and others with new product releases. Specifically, it claimed that the MagicBook Pro 16 would be 'smarter' than recent Apple or Samsung laptops, despite the machine's reliance on the same Intel Meteor Lake silicon as the Galaxy Book4 series. Regardless, Honor's July 12 event will also host the following other new devices:
- Magic Vs3
- MagicPad 12
- MagicBook Art 14
While Honor has not hinted at the design of the Magic Vs3 yet, leakers on Weibo suggest that the device could resemble recent Huawei Mate foldable designs, such as the Mate X5. Similarly, recent leaks point towards the Magic V3 adopting an octagonal camera housing, within which will sit a new 50 MP 'eagle-eye' primary camera and a periscope telephoto that delivers 3.5x optical zoom. By contrast, Honor has published a few stylised images of the MagicPad 12 and MagicBook Art 14, which we have embedded below. Although Honor has not revealed too many details about any of its forthcoming devices yet, past behaviour suggests it will do so before its July 12 launch event.
