ViewSonic releases new 480 Hz OLED gaming monitor with DisplayPort 2.1 and 140 W USB-C Power Delivery
ViewSonic has revealed yet another OLED monitor, building on the XG272-2K-OLED that it launched earlier this year. This time, the company has introduced the XG323-4K-OLED2, the model number of which reveals that it contains a 32-inch panel that outputs natively in 4K. Typically, most new OLED monitors utilise a Gen 3 QD-OLED panel sourced from Samsung Display, such as the Alienware AW3225QF, ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM and MSI MPG 321URX.
However, ViewSonic has opted for the lesser used LG Display WOLED equivalent, which is already available globally inside the LG UltraGear OLED 32GS95UE (curr. $1,308.10 on Amazon). As such, the XG323-4K-OLED2 benefits from LG Display's latest MLA+ technology for up to 1,300 nits peak brightness when viewing HDR content. Please note that this value drops to a more modest 250 nits when SDR content is active.
Nonetheless, the monitor combines its 4K resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate in all scenarios. Additionally, the XG323-4K-OLED2 is another dual display mode monitor. Thus, it can switch to a 480 Hz refresh rate at the expense of dropping to a 1080p resolution. For reference, the panel also offers 0.03 ms GtG response times and a matte finish, as well as VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.
Moreover, ViewSonic includes a pair of DisplayPort 2.1 ports with 80 Gbit/s bandwidth each, unlike many of its contemporaries. Furthermore, the XG323-4K-OLED2 also features a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports and a single USB Type-C port that can charge connected devices at up to 140 W. On top of that, ViewSonic equips the monitor with a pair of 5 W speakers, a 3-port USB hub and an adjustable stand. Currently, ViewSonic has only released the monitor in China, where it retails for CNY 10,999 (~$1,513). With that being said, the company tends to offer its monitors globally at some stage.
