Cambridge Audio presents Melomania P100: First NC over-ear headphones with Class A/B amplifier and 100 hours of battery life
A few months after the launch of the Melomania M100 buds (150 euros on Amazon), Cambridge Audio has today unveiled new over-ear headphones. The Melomania P100 is the first of its kind from the manufacturer and promises features worthy of the brand with a Class A/B amplifier and up to 100 hours of battery life.
According to Cambridge Audio, the aim was to develop Bluetooth headphones with noise-canceling that are suitable for everyday use and do not compromise on sound quality. To achieve this, the manufacturer has installed 40-mm drivers with a sandwich membrane made of polyurethane and polyether ether ketone together with a classic hi-fi amplifier with Class A/B circuitry, which is intended to produce a transparent, clean, and natural sound. The sound can be adjusted to your taste via the Melomania Connect app with a seven-band equalizer.
High-resolution music can be transmitted to the Melomania P100 via Bluetooth 5.3 with support for the AAC and AptX Adaptive codecs at up to 96 kHz and 24 bit. Wired operation via USB-C or a supplied adapter to a 3.5 mm jack is also possible as an option.
In addition to a gaming mode with a low latency of 80 ms, the new Cambridge Audio Melomania P100 also offer a long battery life. Without noise-cancelling, they last up to 100 hours, with noise-cancelling a maximum can reach up to 60 hours. Thanks to fast charging, a further two hours of playback with ANC or four hours without ANC are possible within 5 minutes. The headphones are made from 50 percent recycled plastic. The ear cups are padded with memory foam and covered with vegan faux leather.
The new Melomania P100 from Cambridge Audio will be available in stores from July 15, 2024 in both silk matt white and black. The recommended retail price is 279 euros.
