CMF Buds Pro 2 debuts as new Nothing earbuds with ANC, LDAC and innovative controls
The Buds Pro 2 is CMF's second pair of earbuds, following last September's launch of the Buds Pro (curr. $39 on Amazon). For context, CMF is a Nothing sub-brand that focuses on the budget end of the market. Nonetheless, CMF claims that Buds Pro 2 offers a few high-end features like LDAC audio codec support for 24-bit audio transmissions at 990 kbps and 96 kHz.
Additionally, the earbuds are said to provide spatial audio technology and utilise Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. Moreover, the Buds Pro 2 provide up to 50 dB of active noise cancellation (ANC) with a 5,000 Hz frequency range. On top of that, Nothing has included a dual driver system in each earbud that consists of a 6 mm micro-planar tweeter and an 11 mm bass driver with 20 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response.
Furthermore, Nothing claims that the earbuds last up to 11 hours in AAC audio mode with ANC switched off. However, official battery life estimates drop to 4.3 hours when playing LDAC-encoded music with ANC activated. Thankfully, a mere 10 minutes of charge delivers 1.8 hours of listening time with ANC and LDAC switched on. Not only has Nothing confirmed pricing and availability yet, but it has outlined that the earbuds feature touch and smart dial controls, the latter of which Nothing has integrated within the earbuds' charging case. At launch, the company has priced the Buds Pro 2 at €59; please see Nothing's website for further details.
