HiDock H1 debuts as smart conference speaker powered by GPT-4o and 11-in-1 docking station in one
HiDock asserts that it can revolutionize online conferencing, meetings and possibly remote work in general with the H1. The speaker can generate recordings, transcriptions and summaries of the audio it 'hears' in various smart ways (such as keeping track of who is talking and what they said) by integrating GPT-4o - even if the caller is using an iPhone.
Its output is apparently only available via the companion HiNote app, however, although HiDock claims that all the data involved is "end-to-end" AES 256 encrypted, always kept on the device's 32GB internal storage and "will not be used for AI training".
Furthermore, the OEM claims that the H1 can replace your Anker USB-C Data Hub with the same number of ports, 1 of which is a USB-C PD 100W port to keep your ultrabook plugged into - which can also drive up to 2 4K/60Hz monitor via HDMI 2.0.
The H1 can also accommodate 2 UHS-II cards (although 1 needs to be microSD); 2 additional USB-C accessories; 2 USB type-A devices, although only 1 would have access to 10Gb/s data transfers; and a LAN port (albeit for 2.5G Ethernet only).
Then again, the USB-C Data Hub is currently available on Amazon for $55.99, whereas the H1 "Audio Dock" is only available on hidock.com in Slate or Silver Gray for $299 at the time of writing.
