ASUS reveals new compact Triple 4K Thunderbolt 4 Dock DC500
ASUS has unveiled the Triple 4K Thunderbolt 4 Dock DC500. The company has designed the accessory with creators in mind and claims it is the smallest 12-in-1 TB4 dock available.
The DC500 is powered by a 150W DC input and connects to the host device via Thunderbolt 4 with 96W pass-through charging. Peripherals can be powered via two USB-A 2.0 ports at the front of the dock. A second Thunderbolt 4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports enable you to connect up to three 4K@60Hz monitors; with just one external display connected, the maximum resolution increases to 8K@30Hz. Alternatively, you can utilize the 40 Gbps transfer speed of the TB4 port to quickly move files. Also included are two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, SD 4.0 and microSD card readers, a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port, an audio combo jack and a Kensington lock slot.
There are also IT Management features such as MAC address pass-through, Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) boot and Wake-on-LAN. The compact accessory has an aluminum shell measuring 185 x 80 x 21 mm (~7.3 x 3.1 x 0.8-in), and is compatible with devices running Windows 10 or later, or macOS 12.3 or later. An aluminum stand with locking knob allows you to attach the device to the back of your monitor or your desk. The ASUS Triple 4K Thunderbolt 4 Dock DC500 will retail for $349, though a launch date remains unclear.
