CES 2024 | Asus ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM joins its 34-inch cousin featuring 240 Hz 1440p ultrawide panel with 1300 nits peak brightness
Alongside the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP and the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP, Asus is also introducing the ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM curved gaming monitor at CES 2024. The ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM joins the previously announced ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM in offering an 800R curvature for added immersion, with the PG39WCDM offering 32% more screen space compared to conventional 34-inch 21:9 displays.
Asus says that the 800R curvature ensures even pixels at the far edge are equidistant from the eyes when seated 80 cm away from the monitor. Both the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM and the PG39WCDM sport a 3440 x 1400 ultra-wide resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate. According to Asus, the new ROG Swift lineup can achieve 30% higher peak brightness up to 1300 nits and are compliant with the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 standard.
A Clear Pixel Edge algorithm helps reduce green/red fringing. Asus claims a 0.03 ms response time and support for AMD FreeSync Premium for smooth visuals while a custom heatsink reduces screen burn-in concerns.
The ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM and PG39WCDM come with a built-in Smart KVM switch that allows users to control two connected computers with a single keyboard and mouse. Users can also make use of picture-in-picture (PiP) and picture-by-picture (PBP) modes to keep a tab on the secondary device. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4 with Display Stream Compression (DSC), HDMI 2.1, and USB 3.2 Type-A, and USB Type-C with 90 W Power Delivery.
Asus is also bundling some AI smarts with Dynamic Shadow Boost, Dynamic cross-hair, Variable Overdrive 2.0, and Dynamic GameVisual. A VESA wall-mount kit comes bundled in the box.
Pricing and availability for the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM is yet to be revealed.
