Gigabyte has presented the AORUS FO32U2P during CES 2024, one of many new gaming monitors based around Samsung Display's latest 31.5-inch QD-OLED. While the Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P matches the Alienware AW3225QF and others with a 4K resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate, it also is the world's first to offer full-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity.

Gigabyte has introduced the FO32U2P, one of several AORUS gaming monitors that it has revealed at CES 2024. For now, the AORUS FO32U2P is the monitor to which Gigabyte is paying the most attention, with it being the only model to receive a dedicated 'official trailer'. Although the company has not explained, it appears that this may be because the AORUS FO32U2P is the 'world's first DP2.1 UHBR20 OLED gaming monitor'.

Unpacking that, the AORUS FO32U2P utilises a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel that outputs at 4K (3,840 x 2,160) with a 240 Hz refresh rate. In other words, it seems that Gigabyte has used the same Samsung Display panel on which MSI bases the MAG 321UPX, MEG 321URX and MPG 321URX, Dell uses for the Alienware AW3225QF and HP in the Omen Transcend 32. Thus, the AORUS FO32U2P also provides 0.03 ms GtG response times and up to 1,000 nits peak brightness when viewing HDR content.

Moreover, Gigabyte claims that its gaming monitor offers DisplayPort 2.1 (DP2.1) connectivity with Ultra-High Bit Rate 20 (UHBR20) certification. Consequently, the AORUS FO32U2P should deliver at least 80 Gbit/s transfer speeds (DP80) with 20 Gbit/s across four lanes. While Gigabyte has not shared any release information yet, TFT Central expects the AORUS FO32U2P to arrive during 1H 2024. For reference, we have rounded up Gigabyte's other new AORUS gaming monitors separately because of the limited information supplied about them at this stage.
