After a short teaser about its display capabilities, MSI has now officially announced its flagship gaming laptop, the Titan 18 HX A14V. The Titan 18 HX boasts of being the world's first laptop with an 18-inch 4K mini-LED display.
The Titan 18 HX comes equipped with the new Intel Core i9-14900HX Raptor Lake-HX Refresh that can use up to 200 W and boost up to 5.8 GHz on two P-cores and up to 5.2 GHz on all P-cores. Being a 14th gen CPU, the Core i9-14900HX supports Intel Application Optimization (APO) profiles that can help boost fps by up to 20% in some games. The CPU also supports Thermal Velocity Boost.
MSI offers both 175 W Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 Laptop GPU options for the Titan 18 HX. The laptop is also transitioning to a vapor chamber cooler with two fans and four exhausts. Combined with OverBoost Ultra, the Titan 18 HX is capable of sustaining a total of 270 W from the CPU and GPU while allowing all P-cores to sustain at 5.2 GHz without throttling.
The Titan traditionally boasts of offering the full suite of expansion options, and accordingly we get to see four memory expansion slots allowing for up to 128 GB DDR5 RAM along with 2x PCIe Gen4 and 1x PCIe Gen5 SSD slots.
MSI is also introducing an RGB touchpad, which it says offers precise haptic navigation. In typical Titan fashion, the Titan 18 HX offers a SteelSeries keyboard with CherryMX switches and per-key RGB, a quad speaker and two woofer array, 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750 with Bluetooth 5.4, FHD webcam with IR, and a 99.9 WHr battery. Keeping this beast fed is a 400 W power adapter.
The MSI Titan 18 HX will retail for US$4,999 for the RTX 4090+64 GB RAM variant while the RTX 4090+128 GB RAM will set you back by US$5,399.
