The RTX 40 SUPER and RX 7600 XT GPUs are slated to be released later this month. According to serial leaker Moore’s Law Is Dead, the launch supply of the RX 7600 XT will be pretty good while the RTX 4070 SUPER will also enjoy good availability. However, the RTX 4080 SUPER and the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER could be much harder to buy at launch.

Both NVIDIA and AMD added to their lineups of  RTX 40 and RX 7000 GPUs at CES 2024 respectively. Whereas AMD only announced the budget RX 7600 XT, NVIDIA revealed three new cards, the RTX 4080 SUPER, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and the RTX 4070 SUPER. Just like previous launches, NVIDIA is following a staggered release with the RTX 4070 SUPER being the first card to launch on January 17 followed by the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER on January 24 and the RTX 4080 SUPER on January 31.

On the AMD side, the RX 7600 XT is set to launch on January 24.

Now, the question becomes: Will you be able to buy these boards at launch? To that end, Moore’s Law Is Dead has now leaked the supply situation of the RTX 40 SUPER and RX 7600 XT on boards.

RTX 40 SUPER supply

The first source, a “Global Distributor”, that MLID quotes claimed that the RTX 40 SUPER supply on launch “ is not great”, as the Q1 supply for all three RTX 40 SUPER cards is equivalent to that of a single GPU launch in normal conditions. This sentiment is shared by a “Major retailer” source who mentioned to MLID that the RTX 40 SUPER will have a “light launch”.

The source also alleged that although the RTX 4070 SUPER launch supply could be satisfactory, the RTX 4080 SUPER and the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER may have a low supply. The source also suggested that “it looks like after the initial shipment we won’t get resupplied for a bit” which makes sense since NVIDIA has to get rid of the RTX 40 non-SUPER stock before allowing users to purchase the better value SUPER cards.

This is exactly what an NVIDIA insider reported to MLID. The source claimed that until NVIDIA manages to clear the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti (Available on Amazon) stock, the SUPER cards won’t be widely available.

Radeon RX 7600 XT supply

The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT is essentially an RX 7600 (Available on Amazon) with higher clocks and double the VRAM. Per one of MLID’s AMD sources, the $329 card should be easy to get a hold of as “this is planned to be a standard launch with decent supply and plenty of resupplies regularly if things go well”.

The RX 7600 XT is also expected to move “pretty damn well” vs the RTX 4060 (Available on Amazon) and the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB.

As always, we have to reserve judgments until the actual launch to see how much of MLID’s report ends up being true.
