Nvidia RTX 4070 Super leaked 3DMark scores suggest good performance gain over RTX 4070
Embargos for the Nvidia RTX 4070 Super with the MSRP pricing of $599 will end later today. But the 3DMark performance of the graphics card has already leaked. These leaked scores suggest that the card will bring a good level of improvement over the non-Super GeForce GPU.
Under the hood, the Nvidia RTX 4070 Super packs the AD104 GPU with 7168 CUDA cores. That means the graphics card offers about 22% more cores than the standard GeForce RTX 4070, which features 5888 CUDA cores. While the new GPU has more cores, its memory didn’t see an upgrade. The new graphics card has the same 12 GB of GDDR6X found in its non-Super variant.
But the good news is that the leaked 3DMark scores point up to a 19% performance gain over the non-Super Nvidia RTX 4070 Super. What’s more interesting is that the scores suggest it’s 8% to 5% slower than the RTX 4070 Ti. These comparisons basically hint that the GPU will be a proper upgrade for gamers with old rigs.
It’s worth noting that the standard model is about to go through a price adjustment after the launch of the Super GPU. As per the official announcement, Nvidia will bring the standard RTX 4070 price to $550 (Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC already at $549.99 on Amazon), leading to a $49 difference from the Nvidia RTX 4070 Super.
However, if the leaked 3DMark scores are correct, getting the non-Super model now wouldn’t make much sense. Also, retailers have already listed a good number of custom RTX 4070 Super GPU models at MSRP, which will all be available for purchase starting tomorrow.
