The Studio and Evo variants share the same chassis and most of the features. However, the Studio variant is slightly heavier as it can be equipped with up to an RTX 4070 dGPu from Nvidia, while the Evo one only relies on the integrated Intel Arc from the Meteor Lake processors.

MSI’s Prestige lineup is receiving the AI treatment this year with the introduction of Intel’s latest Meteor Lake Core Ultra processors. The top-of-the-line models include two versions of the 16-inch Prestige, both powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU. However, while the Prestige 16 AI Studio can be equipped with a dGPU, the Prestige 16 AI Evo is lighter with just the integrated Intel Arc graphics.

The shared specs between the AI Studio and AI Evo models also include up to 32 GB LPDDR5 RAM, dTPM 2.0 platform with fingerprint reader and FHD IR webcam, as well as an Intel Killer GbE NIC + a Wi-Fi 7 & Bluetooth 5.4 card. Both versions come with a slim chassis that is only 18.95 mm thick and feature a 99.9 Wh battery lasting up to 19 h.

On the display side, the AI Studio and AI Evo share a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS LCD display option with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 400 nit brightness. There is an additional 3840 x 2400 OLED option with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut only for the Ai Studio. For dGPU options, the AI Studio supports either an Nvidia RTX 4050, RTX 4060 or RTX 4070.

Storage support differs as well, with the AI Studio featuring a single M.2 PCIe 4.0 slot, whereas the AI Evo comes with two M.2 slots. Port selection on the AI Studio comes with 1x Thunderbolt 4 connector, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, SD card reader, HDMI 2.1 video out, GbE and audio jacks, while the AI Evo replaces the regular USB-C connector with an additional Thunderbolt 4.

Featuring a bit more processing power via the dGPU options, the AI Studio weighs 1.6 kg and comes with a 140 W USB-C charger. The lighter AI Evo weighs 1.5 kg and features only a 100 W charger.

Prices for the Evo variants powered by a Core Ultra 7 155H start at $1,399 and go up to $1,499 for the Core Ultra 9 185H SKU. On the other hand, the Studio variant with RTX 4060, Core Ultra 9 185H and 1 TB storage starts at $1,899 and prices reach $2,299 for the SKU with RTX 4070 and 2 TB storage.
