CES 2024 | MSI introduces Creator 16 AI Studio laptops with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU and Nvidia RTX 4090 dGPU

With the latest Intel Meteor Lake processors focusing on the AI side of things, MSI is expanding the Creator lineup, adding new AI-focused models such as the Creator 16 AI Studio, which stands as a portable powerhouse and is an ideal solution for creative professionals who require a lightweight solution.

The press release mentions that the Creator 16 AI Studio comes with an OLED display option. However, the spec sheet provided by MSI only mentions a 16-inch 3840 X 2400 MiniLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1000 nit max brightness.

MSI is equipping this model with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU that can be complemented by up to 64 GB DDR5 memory along with PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage via two M.2 slots. Besides the integrated Intel Arc graphics, users can get access to either an Nvidia RTX 4080 or 4090 dGPU.

While the audio side is average at best on most content creation devices, MSI is raising the bar on the Creator 16 AI Studio by including a Dynaudio sound system with 4x 2W tweeters plus 2x 2W woofers. The audio codec also supports DTS and Hi-Res Audio processing.

Port selection features 1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, an HDMI 2.1 video out, audio jack, 2.5 GbE jack and microSD card reader. Wireless connectivity gets an upgrade to the latest Wi-Fi 7 + BT 5.4 standards. Security features are also quite robust with fingerprint reader, dTPM 2.0 and a 1080p webcam integrating an IR sensor as well as a privacy shutter.

Packing a 99.9 Wh battery, the Creator 16 AI Studio has a 19.95 mm profile and is fairly light at just 1.99 kg.

Exact availability has not yet been unveiled, but prices for the RTX 4080 variant start at $2,999, and the RTX 4090 variant with 64 GB of RAM and 2 TB SSD is priced at $3,999.
