The new Tesla Model 3 Highland facelift can be had for just $329/month by taking advantage of the $7,500 government tax credit for leased electric vehicles. Deliveries start this month and the Highland brings longer range, quieter ride, and new interior, as well as more elegant design.

Just as predicted, Tesla released the Model 3 Highland in the US before its quarterly results conference and there are some trim, price, and range movers and shakers on its order pages with Highland order deliveries set for January.

The Model 3 Highland was already launched in other regions like Asia and Europe, with units coming out of Giga Shanghai. In the US, however, it had to undergo different crash tests and get its exclusive HW4 Full Self-Driving kit ducks in a row before it could bring it to paying customers.

Tesla Model 3 Highland US price and range

  • $38,990 Model 3 Highland RWD with 272-mile range
  • $45,990 Model 3 Highland Long Range with 341-mile range

A Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance version is nowhere to be seen now, as it will reportedly be resurrected at a later date in the new trim. The Model 3 RWD and the Model 3 Highland Long Range keep the same pricing as before, but the LR version adds more range, 341 miles vs 333 miles for the Long Range version before.

Unfortunately, despite possible being assembled at the Fremont factory, the US Model 3 Highland still uses Chinese batteries in its powertrain and remains ineligible for direct federal tax credit. It, however, can take advantage of the government's new EV tax credit program for leased vehicles, confirms Tesla, and can be had at just $329/month for the base RWD Highland, a pretty breathtaking deal on a new 2024 Model 3.

2024 Model 3 Highland vs 2023 Model 3

With the US-bound 2024 Model 3 Highland price and range out of the way, Tesla has also listed all the upgrades from the older Model 3 and has listed the new features.

Design

  • Renewed design: 0.22 drag coefficient with more dynamic body shape.
  • New Light Wing headlights and integrated tail lights.
  • New Ultra Red ($2,000) and Stealth Grey colors.
  • 19-inch Nova Wheels ($1,500) and 18-inch Photon Wheels.

Highland performance and interior

  • Renewed performance: 341 miles long-lasting battery life, new suspension system.
  • 175 miles of range added in a 15-minute Supercharger session.
  • Cockpit: dual front and rear screens.
  • Softer, more refined materials with premium craftsmanship.
  • Safety Renewal: Remote Airbags, Blind Spot Reminder Lights.
  • Surrounding cockpit and multi-color ambient lights.
  • Audio system: up to 17 speakers, 2 subwoofers and 2 amplifiers.
  • Wireless charging pad for two phones
  • Ventilated seats.

The front seats can be set in cooling mode before getting into the vehicle with the Tesla app, and automatically air-conditioned by linking them to the A/C system. What's most intriguing, however, is the Hardware 4.0 kit and how it would perform in the upcoming FSD Beta 12 update.

The Model 3 Highland doesn't seem to have the Cybertruck's front bumper camera used for parking and off-road purposes despite that some prototypes and marketing materials had it.
