CES 2024 | MSI MAG 321UPX QD-OLED and MPG 321URX QD-OLED detailed as new gaming monitors with 4K and 240 Hz visuals
The MSI MAG 321UPX QD-OLED and MPG 321URX QD-OLED are one step closer to being released. For context, the company teased the pair in November 2023 alongside 27-inch, 34-inch and 49-inch models. Now, it has included the MAG 321UPX QD-OLED and MPG 321URX QD-OLED within its CES 2024 showcase, as well as QD-OLED-based MAG 271QPX, MPG 271QRX, MAG 341CQP and MPG 491CQP.
In summary, MAG 321UPX QD-OLED and MPG 321URX QD-OLED rely on the same display, which features the following specifications:
- 31.5-inch (699.48 x 394.73 mm active display area)
- 3,840 x 2,160 pixels (0.1814 x 0.1814 pixel pitch)
- 240 Hz refresh rate
- 250 nits typical brightness (VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified)
- 0.03 ms GtG response times (Adaptive-Sync supported)
Hence, it seems that MSI has based both monitors around the same panel that Dell uses in the Alienware AW3225QF, another CES 2024 attendee. Additionally, both monitors feature DisplayPort 1.4a, HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C video ports, along with a 3.5 mm audio jack. However, only the MPG 321URX QD-OLED has dedicated USB ports, just like the MPG 271URX QD-OLED. Specifically, the former contains one USB 2.0 Type-B port and a pair of USB 2.0 Type-A ports, plus 90 W Power Delivery support via its USB Type-C port compared to 15 W for the MAG 321URX QD-OLED.
MSI has not revealed pricing and availability for either of its new 32-inch QD-OLED gaming monitors yet. For reference, Dell will begin selling the comparable Alienware AW3225QF later this month in North America for $1,199.99, albeit with a 1700R curved finish. Please see MSI's website for more hardware details.
