MSI has confirmed more details about the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED and MPG 271QRX QD-OLED, two similar gaming monitors that it is showcasing at CES 2024. To recap, the company outlined various new QD-OLED gaming monitors in November, all of which it has brought to this year's Las Vegas-based conference. For reference, the others are as follows:
As far as we can tell, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED and MPG 271QRX QD-OLED rely on the same QD-OLED panel, which measures 27-inches across and outputs at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Additionally, the panel delivers a 360 Hz refresh rate, which it combines with 0.03 ms response times (GtG) and 98% Adobe RGB, 99.1% DCI-P3 and 138.4% sRGB colour space coverages. Also, while MSI notes that both monitors provide 250 nits typical brightness, their VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certifications should ensure 400 nits peak brightness.
Seemingly, MSI distinguishes the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED and MPG 271QRX QD-OLED with their port selection. On the one hand, both monitors have a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, as well as single DisplayPort 1.4 and USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) connections. However, MSI restricts the USB Type-C port in the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED to 15 W USB Power Delivery, compared to 90 W for the MPG 271QRX QD-OLED. On the other hand, the latter also has USB 2.0 Type-A (2x) and USB 2.0 Type-B (1x) ports. Unfortunately, MSI has not revealed pricing or availability yet. For context, Dell will start selling the Alienware AW2725DF later this month in North America for $899.99, which appears to feature the same QD-OLED panel as the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED and MPG 271QRX QD-OLED.
